About me...
Midwifery first touched my heart when I was twenty, a young adult browsing the public library shelves. A book with a beautiful cover and intriguing title caught my eye. It was a book about natural birth and midwifery. With each page I turned I became more enamored as I soaked up the beauty and power of birth… I was forever changed!
In the time since then I have immersed myself in all things birth. I trained and worked as a doula, midwife's assistant, and finally as a homebirth midwife. During my apprenticeship, I had the opportunity to train for 10 years and work in 6 different midwifery practices with 11 amazing midwives.
I am a Certified Professional Midwife and have an independent practice, working in Southeast Ohio serving birthing families! Based out of Athens, I also serve Nelsonville, Lancaster, Logan, Jackson, Gallipolis, Marietta, Parkersburg and more. Typically anywhere within roughly a 50 mile radius from Athens Ohio.
I am a member of The Appalachian Birth Co-op, Ohio Birthcraft Co-op, and of The Ohio Midwives Alliance. I also serve on the board of the Ohio chapter of The National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM).
I keep busy raising my three kids with my husband, working on our 91 acre farm in Athens County, exploring the woods, knitting, chasing cows, and of course going to births. I look forward to meeting you!
